Hello my friends, how’s your summer going? Me, I’m watching a lot of baseball, as always. Glad to see the Phillies doing better, due to Ryan Howard getting hot. Wish I could say the same for the Reds, who are just not playing well, except for Ken Griffey, Jr., who’s having a nice year. In my opinion, they shouldn’t trade him.
I’ve also been having a great time meeting lots of fans out in Vegas at the Field of Dreams store. I love talking baseball with them, whether it’s about my playing days or what’s happening this year in the majors. On a personal level, I’m very excited about my son, Pete Jr., who’s playing for the Long Island Ducks, an independent league team. He’s hitting over 340 and leading the league in hits!!! I’m very disappointed no MLB club has signed him for his left handed bat off the bench. And speaking of the Big Leagues, watch out for the Yankees... I think A-Rod is the best overall player in baseball.
Well, I have to run. Be sure to let me hear from you all. I look forward to blogging with you again soon.
Best wishes,
Pete

I am very excited about the 07 MLB season. Free Agent moves, signings etc... the season should be very competitive. As a fan, I like great pennant races that go right down to the end. The Reds and Phillies should be right in the hunt! I want to thank all my fans for a great 06, and will continue to spend time traveling around the country talking baseball! I do spend a lot of time in Las Vegas at the Field of Dreams store, and look forward to visiting with everyone in the upcoming months.
Thanks,
Pete

Hi again friends,
First off, just let me offer my congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals on their big World Series win. No offense to the Tigers and their fans, who had a great year, but being an old National Leaguer at heart, I have to admit I was rooting for the Cardinals. I also had high hopes for the Padres and Twins, especially when I saw how hot they were entering the playoffs. But, as always, the best team is the one left standing at the end, and that was the St. Louis. Their fans have been faithful for a lot of years and their team is finally on top again. I’m happy for them. I can tell you, every baseball player appreciates having fan support. I know I do. I’m glad to have this blog to keep in touch with my fans, so stay tune for more entries coming soon.
Happy Halloween!
